Quad Display Linux Setup

After about a year of waiting for Xorg to release an xorg-server that didn't lock up on my Linux machine. 1.8.1.902 was tested on my machine, and it worked! I patched it with a hacked xineramainfo performed by yours truly and set up dual twinview across 2 monitors each, then stitched it all together with xinerama. I'm sure 3D acceleration doesn't work right, but thats OK for me because I don't do gaming and don't need wobbly window effects. This machine is used for day-to-day desktop applications as well as business operations and video editing.

ASUS M5A99X Evo Motherboard with UEFI BIOS - Unboxing & Look at

Unboxing and Look at ASUS M5A99X Evo AM3+ Motherboard with UEFI BIOS which I purchased from Aria for £122. UEFI BIOS provides a fancy GUI interface with mouse control, and also support for 3Tb+ Hard Drives. It comes with latest AMD 990X and SB950 Chipsets The board works very well in Ubuntu 11.04 with Linux Kernel 2.6.38, and even better in Ubuntu 11.10 with kernel 3.0. It can boot off USB Boot Disks created in UNetBootIn. Things not working correctly: Two USB devices of mine (SD card reader and one basic Flash drive) Temperature sensors are way off in Ubuntu (likely a driver issue) Motherboard Specifications: CPU: AMD AM3+ and older AM2 & AM3 Athlon, Phenom II Memory: 4x DDR3 upto 32Gb Multi GPU: Both NVIDIA SLI and AMD ATI CrossFireX Expansion Slots: 2 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8) 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 speed) 2 x PCIe 2.0 x1 1 x PCI USB: 4x USB 3.0 (2 back panel, 2 header) 14x USB 2.0 (8 back panel, 6 header) Back Panel I/O Ports: 8x USB 2.0 2x USB 3.0 1x IEEE 1394a (Firewire) 2x eSATA 1x PS/2 (keyboard / mouse combo) 1x LAN (RJ45 port) 1x Optical S/PDIF out 6x Analogue Audio jacks Internal I/O Ports: 1x USB 3.0 supports 2 USB 3.0 ports 3x USB 2.0 supports 6 USB 2.0 ports 1x COM (serial port) 6x SATA 6Gb/s 2x SATA 3Gb/s 1x IEEE 1394a 2x CPU Fan (4 pin) 3x Fan connectors (3 pin) 1x S/PDIF out header 1x Front panel audio header
