Linux Mint 9 - New Video! [Full HD]

I made a new more improved video about Linux Mint 9 with Compiz Fusion + Emerald + Cairo Dock, this time I also configured/set up Conky, a nice gadget which shows the resources being used, date and time as well. Also I now have a graphical visualizer for Audacious, not too useful but what the heck, it makes it look nice :) And yes, I use Fraps for my videos, hence the name.ogv file in the beginning of the video, it's too much of a hassle for me to convert this fkin ogv, I just play the .ogv in VLC Player and record it with Fraps, then all the files go trough Adobe Premiere Pro, where they are compressed into one .mp4 file with the H.264 codec, alot easier if you ask me! ;) I do not own the copyrights for the audio, nor did I create these tracks, all credits go to the artists! If you like this, support this artists work and buy it :)

Linux Mint 9 + Compiz + Emerald & Cairo Dock [Full HD]

Playing around with Linux Mint 9 "Isadora". I'm not that skilled in using Linux, like many other people I come from Windows, and this is my first try and the experience I have had until now is that Linux is just as useful as any other OS, with each ofcourse having their own downs and ups, so keep in mind that there is NO such thing as "The best OS". Here I am just messing around with Compiz Fusion, Emerald and Cairo Dock, showing some of the nice eye candy that you can have if you use Linux... I used gtk-recordMyDesktop to capture the screen, somehow some of the compiz effects cause tearing in the screen, there are probably more people who are experiencing the same issue... I have tried several solutions on the internet, none of them did work, fortunately I have found the solution to fix the problem here... I can not guarantee it will work for you, it's a case of trial and error... the solution for me was to uncheck "Allow flipping" at NVIDIA X Settings (OpenGL Settings Tab) According to several sites, the issue could be solved by checking Sync to VblanK... just try it, you never know if it solves the issue for you! Enjoy the effects and the fitting tune as well =] I do not own the copyrights for the audio used in this recording, nor did I create it, all credits go to the artist! If you like this, support this artists work and buy it :)
