Gaming in Linux : Killing Floor

Killing Floor running in Ubuntu Linux through wine 1.3.10, The game installs fine and runs great ONCE with mousewarpoverride set to force. It makes it difficult to navigate through the menus but I explain how to do it in the video. This game is a fantastic first person zombie shooter and well worth buying! The sound normally works in game without recordmydesktop!

Arch Linux (+ Openbox) on old PC/hardware

Showing common stuff... Arch Linux (2010.05) with the Openbox WM, on an old PC (512 MB RAM, 2,4 Ghz). Graphics = just Vesa driver. A minimal setup but with the essentials; some multimedia tools. Works pretty good. Programs start slower than in Puppy (see earlier vid) but once started do not run noticeably slower. Package management is much easier/better (benefit with Arch is also the packages are well up-to-date). Launcher at 0:05 = Launchy Note, sometimes the mouse hangs, and the video in SMPlayer, yes it gets displayed too fast and then too slow... both are normally not so, but because I used the recordmydesktop software this time and was too lazy trying to get it to record this right... (with my usual output driver choices for mplayer it wouldn't even record the movie at all).

Testing Gtk-recordmydesktop - Now with Kubuntu! ^ ^

Same thing happened lol. Btw I'm speaking Brazillian Portuguese, never mind that, I was just testing to see if the video was in step with sound. The only way I managed to prevent that is by not using any compiz effects except the window effects :(
