Dingoo A330 Emulation/Gaming Handheld Review

This is a video review of my recently acquired Dingoo A330 portable game system, purchased from www.ankaka.com. The Dingoo A330 is the Dingoo Technology successor to the popular budget emulation handheld; the Dingoo A320. The hardware spec is mostly the same but the system has 64mb of RAM, comes with a better LCD screen and later firmware revision, and supports the use of a 2.4Ghz wireless joypad to make playing the games easier when hooked up to your TV. This review was done after about 2-3 weeks of ownership, to ensure that the buttons and joypad were properly 'broken in' and that I'd had chance to experiment with the large range of software available for both the native operating system and the user-created port of Linux. Although many Dingoo owners have the A320 and have developed specifically for it, nearly all of the community-created software works just the same (or better) on the slightly improved A330 spec and the more ergonomic design makes it a better choice for anyone considering which model to buy. You also avoid the A320 'version minefield' which gave varied results with the old system as it was manufactured by various Dingoo company spin-offs. Apologies for the quiet sound but I've added notes where necessary, so please rate this video or comment if you have any questions.

Use wireless Sixaxis DualShock 3 w PC emulators N64, PSX, CPSIII, etc on your HDTV (ubuntu wahcade)

I was one of a number of individuals who were effected by the removal of the other os feature on the ps3. I held out on updating the ps3 for a while but I ultimately updated with the knowledge that I could recreate the experience using my six year old laptop. In this video I recreate an experince similar to the zerogame project. I first run through what you need and then what the finished product should look like. 1st thing 1st what you need: 1. An HDTV with a VGA port 2. A computer, laptop, or netbook with a VGA port (common) 3. a Premium VGA cable -Get one here: http://tinyurl.com/2b3n854 (~$10) 4. bluetooth or a bluetooth dongle -Get one here: http://tinyurl.com/28ush5u (~$3) 5. Ubuntu or for older computers with 256MB of ram or less Xubuntu 10.04. (free) -Order Free Ubuntu CD: http://tinyurl.com/n56pn -Download ubuntu: http://tinyurl.com/342ae6y -Download xubuntu: http://tinyurl.com/35efum7 Now for the How-to: 1st Install ubuntu. You can install ubuntu with in windows using wubi or you can boot the live cd and install that way. The wubi method is the easiest and you with it you will not have to worry about making a partition or losing windows. Just pop the cd in while in windows and wubi should auto start. Booting the live cd great if you want to delicate a computer to ubuntu. There are ample video tutorials on how to install ubuntu on a PC if you should need one. Just search how to install ubuntu. Once ubuntu is installed and you are at the desktop open a terminal with, ctrl+alt+T, and type: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:falk-t-j/qtsixa {your password} Then type: sudo apt-get install qtsixa Once installed plug in your ps3 controller into the PC and start the program by typing, qtsixa in the terminal. Once open go to "tasks" then "pair sixaxis/keypad to PC" and follow the prompts. Your sixaxis should now be paired with your computer and ready for use. Unplug it, hold down the ps button and it should sync. If you should find that the controller is acting like a mouse just type the following in the terminal: sudo rm /usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-joystick* then restart the system Now lets install some emulators. In the terminal copy and paste the following; sudo apt-get install snes9x-gtk mednafen mupen64plus xmame-x wine and here are a couple more not in the repos. Download double and double click to install; Gens/Gs http://tinyurl.com/252aaah mednafen frontend http://tinyurl.com/2f2g6fx epsxe windows version http://tinyurl.com/yuep2 also download this dill file and put it in the epsxe directory http://tinyurl.com/2dh3zap In addition to the the dll file epsxe will require a bios file google is your friend. Now start up each emulator and configure the controller for each. All the emulators should be found in the applications menu on the top left under games. After you have configured all the emulators to recognize your wireless 6A/DS3 install wahcade. http://tinyurl.com/27attya Now follow the instructions in this thread to install qjoypad; http://tinyurl.com/23busfv I will continue writing this how-to over time. Hardware used in video: Computer: Acer TravelMate 3200 CPU: Intel Pentium M 745 (1.8GHZ ) GPU: Radeon Mobility 9700 (64MB) RAM: 768MB DDR SDRAM 333MHz HDTV: Samsung LN-S4041D
