3D VR Headtracking test 02
Rating: 0.0/5 (0 vote cast)
This is my second headtracking test. Now I pass the results of my 2-marker tracking algorithm to an OpenGL virtual environment test program, which uses that date to calculate my head's position in 3D space. This calculated head position, is then used as a viewpoint for the virtual environment.
Being able to watch the 3D environment from different angles, by natural motions of ones head, gives a higher level of immersion in the virtual world.
The code for this experiment is available for GNU/Linux on my subversion repository:
svn://nuclear.dnsalias.com/pub/compvis/cam_test (camera tracking program)
svn://nuclear.dnsalias.com/pub/compvis/vr_test (3D environment test program)
svn://nuclear.dnsalias.com/pub/libwcam (v4l webcam library)
